Downlands Caravan Storage

I used downlands as a temporary siting for my caravan. We had no problems other than one day, a unit was sited too close to our plot and we couldn’t get in and out easily at all. It was very stressful. Dennis is fantastic and is a credit to the place. Access to electric and water was very convenient indeed. Would I use the compound again? Answer is no, sadly - Not since other customers had their outfits stolen or broken into.

This place doesn't even deserve a 1 star but it's the lowest I can give unfortunately its that bad. 3 caravans gone missing in less than 6 months plus others damaged. I really do advise to AVOID AVOID AVOID AT ALL COSTS. The cameras don't work either. It's just an invitation site we were lucky to still have ours. It's nothing like the it shows on the Internet. As for gold star rating no way.

Not happy at all Had my caravan stolen from here So much for secure storage Eddie Hutchins well my review would have went something like this . I moved my caravan to this location when my old site had alterations . Looking back now I wish to god I hadn't. I booked my holiday on a site starting this Friday. Went to Downlands to collect my caravan which was an expensive make. It had wheel clamps on and other security measures , the site as a fence and gates and cctv and is supposed to be secure and gold rated . Phoned the owner couldn't care less , he as someone on site guarding it , surely they heard the clamps being cut off . Cctv isn't working either and how did they get it through the gates ? Unbelievable and upon further scrutiny they are not gold standard accredited . DO NOT PUT ANYTHING IN STORAGE HERE.

Despite there being improvements in the perimeter fencing, all down one side of the site there were no improvements made at all. Thieves broke in and stole a number of windows off my and 3 other caravans. Owner of the site acknowledges the fact thieves are on the prowl he doesn’t however think the improvements that need to be made on the side of the site adjoining his neighbours (where the thieves gain entry) are his responsibility telling me to fit an alarm and claim on my insurance (who wrote the caravan off) despite the fact this not so secure storage is easily accessible to thieves and almost all of not every security cameras do not work and as for having a live on caretaker as a ‘deterrent’ couldn’t be any less helpful / interested if he tried. All this could be yours for £720 a year! My only advice…. Look elsewhere!

Site has excellent security including brand new fences and gates all round. The staff will go out of their way to be as friendly and helpful as possible. I have never had any problems with any of my caravans stored there. I would definitely recommend anyone needing storage to go there.
