⭐ MDL Marina — very poor experience The marina manager at Chatham was rude and accusatory without checking the facts. My contracts for both boats were cancelled without proper investigation or explanation, forcing me to move at short notice and at significant cost. They then attempted to charge me for the remaining three months of a contract that they themselves had terminated, without ever explaining why the contract was cancelled. I was accused of being untruthful regarding a mis-sold one-month Platinum Berth Holder contract, which I had taken specifically to make a passage from one end of the UK to the other, as MDL advertised this as the most suitable option for the route I had planned. The marina manager’s conduct caused me to lose trust in MDL Marinas. That said, the other MDL marinas themselves are excellent — particularly Hayling Island, Poole, and Torquay. MDL then pursued court action for the remaining balance of a contract they had cancelled, without correctly serving the paperwork, despite being informed that I had changed address. They showed no remorse in their responses and refused to offer any compensation for time not used on a contract they cancelled without my consent or justification. There was an outstanding fuel balance, but I had accrued over 200 Optimum points across my two boats, which were not deducted from the final invoice. Overall this was handled badly, unprofessionally, and caused serious financial and personal consequences. I would advise others to be extremely cautious.

Very nice marina & restaurants
Excellent facilities in the heart of Southampton. Plenty of facilities in Ocean Village itself (Co-op, bars, restaurants) and 10 minute walk into Southampton city centre. Shower block was brand new with rain showers. Great stopover if you're sailing in the Solent.
