MDL Hythe Marina Village

A cute small village! A nice place for millionaires.

Lovely place for ship and boat spotting. Nice little Marina. Quiet and tranquil for the evening stroll.

Beautiful place. Lots to visit, sit, and have your picnic. The re is plenty of benches around the water front.

We stopped off here after a trip to London (not exactly on the way back to Somerset down the A303 but hey!) - We were going to stop in Southampton and see the cruise ships, but the boat show was on so we abandoned that idea and decided to head across the water to Hythe. The marina car park is vast, but it is also ANPR apparently, however, when you get to the ticket machine there is no way of entering your number plate, so my advice would be to hang on to your ticket for a while afterwards just in case - we have not heard anything a few weeks later so it must be OK. Beware the speed bumps, for surely they will wreck your spine if you hit them any more than 5 mph, but there is plenty of space. We found it best to just keep on going up until you are almost at the Hythe Marina Lock office. You get some awesome views of the Southampton waterway, and the ferries coming in and out. I put my drone up and flew it across to Southampton to get a close up of some of the large boats and thoroughly enjoyed the peace and serenity of the area.

Absolutely delightful & genteel gated marina, with varied but holistic architecture, moorings for each house, and all facilities on site. Well managed and with in house security it is a great place to live or have a second home and mooring for your boat. It's close proximity to the historic Hythe village and the New Forest are added attractions.
