Upon arrival, we thought we had found a lovely retreat, as the name of the site would suggest. The lady in the office was very helpful. She provided us with a map, the park rules and instructions on how to pitch, showed us where the facilities were located, and then walked us to our pitch. We were camping in a tent on a large field and followed the instructions we had been given. Unfortunately, from that point onwards, our experience was very different. Although guests are given clear rules and instructions on arrival, it appeared that these are not consistently enforced. For example, we were told exactly how to position our tent on our allocated pitch, yet other campers appeared to pitch wherever they wished within their areas. We also noticed what appeared to be more than one unit occupying some pitches, despite the booking information stating that only one unit was permitted per pitch, such as a campervan and tent, rather than a campervan awning. Similarly, the rule regarding one car per pitch appeared to be routinely disregarded. There also appeared to be very little staff presence around the site. During our stay, we generally only saw one member of staff, who appeared to be based in the office. We did see a man using a tractor to move caravans, mainly in the morning, but otherwise there seemed to be little visible staff presence around the site. This was particularly noticeable compared with other campsites we have stayed at, where staff are regularly visible maintaining the grounds, checking facilities and generally ensuring that the site is well looked after and that the rules are being followed. The lack of visible staff also contributed to our concerns about security. We were also disappointed by the condition of two particularly tatty caravans situated on poorly maintained pitches close to the shower and toilet block. Being so close to communal facilities, these pitches were highly visible and did not give the impression of a well-maintained or cared-for site. Of particular concern was the caravan situated next to the games room. During our stay, we observed what appeared to be rats running in and out of the caravan's awning. This was extremely concerning, particularly given its proximity to the games room and other areas used by campers. We genuinely felt sorry for anyone staying on the nearby pitches. Seeing rodents in such close proximity to accommodation and communal facilities is not something we would expect to encounter at a campsite, and we feel this warrants serious attention from the site management. We do not usually leave reviews, but on this occasion we feel it is important to share our experience so that prospective guests can make an informed decision. Sadly, what initially appeared to be a lovely retreat turned out to be a disappointing stay. The lack of visible staff presence, apparent failure to consistently enforce the site's own rules, concerns regarding security, and the condition of some areas all contributed to our overall impression of a site that was poorly managed and inadequately monitored. We appreciate that no campsite is perfect and that individual experiences can vary. However, these were significant concerns during our stay, and we believe prospective guests should be aware of them before making a booking.

This site is lovely. Far enough to get away from hustle and busle of everyday life, but everything is only a few miles away. Nice and clean amenities. Very dog friendly, lovely walk adjacent to park with a reasonable sized wood's. Owners very pleasant friendly and welcoming. Site is well maintained. Would recommend.being Adult only fantastic.

Incredibly peaceful. Ideal location in Dorset if you are willing to drive to landmarks. Not far in taxi to Poole for great evening. The village is walkable (no pavement for a stretch) with a couple of pubs and shops for food and drink. Good break for adult only campers.

Ciao :) this is Alessia and Andrea, we loved it here. So so much! The pitch is very spacious, the facilities are clean and comfortable and the atmosphere is just unique. We can’t wait to be back again. All the campers have been friendly and kind, we have appreciated everyone we met here ! :) Thanks again for everything! A presto
